Houston Woman Charged with Aggravated Assault Following Double Stabbing

HOUSTON — A 36-year-old Houston woman, Athiena Candice Jackson, has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, following a stabbing incident that occurred on July 18, 2023, at approximately 9:35 p.m. at 777 Coolwood Drive. The charges were filed in the 183rd State District Court.

The victims, two women aged 29 and 32, were hospitalized following the incident and are currently in stable condition.

According to the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, officers were dispatched to the scene following a report of a stabbing at the apartment complex. Upon arrival, they found that an argument between two women had escalated into violence.

Jackson is said to have fought with one of the women, during which she produced a knife or other sharp object and stabbed her. After this altercation subsided, Jackson attacked and stabbed the second woman. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported both victims to local hospitals.

Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against Jackson. She was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
