McCullough was initially arrested after the July 15, 2021 incident, where he allegedly approached the store counter, demanded money from employees at gunpoint, and fired his weapon into the floor. According to the FBI, McCullough also threatened customers, stole money from cash registers, and took items from a customer’s purse. After leaving the store on foot, he was later positively identified and arrested by the Houston Police Department.

Following his arrest, McCullough was released on bond, but he failed to appear at his scheduled court hearing. As a result, a federal arrest warrant was issued on June 29, 2022, by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston, Texas. He was charged with Interference with Commerce by Robbery and Discharging of a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence.

Prior to his capture, McCullough was believed to be homeless, residing in the areas between Jensen and East Crosstimbers in northeast Houston. The FBI had offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

Details of his capture have not been released, but it was confirmed that McCullough is now in custody.

Officials have labeled McCullough as armed and dangerous, and his capture today represents a significant victory for local and federal law enforcement. As the legal process unfolds, it is hoped that the victims of the alleged robbery can find some measure of peace.
