July 26, 2023 – Charges have been filed against a 19-year-old suspect in relation to a fatal shooting that took place on June 27 at 5919 Beldart Street. D’Andre Vasquez, the suspect, has been charged with capital murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Vasquez has been released with this news announcement. The victim of the fatal shooting has been identified as 18-year-old Plezher Wooley. On June 27, Houston Police Department patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to reports of a shooting at the aforementioned address. On arrival, they discovered the victim lying on the front patio, suffering from a gunshot wound. Wooley was swiftly transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At the time of the incident, no known motive or suspect descriptions were available. Following a thorough investigation, Vasquez was identified as the suspect in this case. On July 25, officers from the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested Vasquez. He has since been booked into the Harris County Jail. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting continues.
