FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS, Sept. 5, 2023 – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested Jose Jose Aguirre, 24, Jose Aguirre Martin, 22, and Orlando Noe Betancur Flores, 21, in a kidnapping and human smuggling investigation. On August 30, 2023, at approximately 12:00 pm, deputies responded to a welfare check call at the 12000 block of Meadow Hollow Drive in Meadows Place, Fort Bend County, Texas. Initial findings indicated a case of human smuggling, where several immigrants were allegedly held captive against their will. Upon further investigation by the Human Trafficking Unit, it was revealed that the immigrants, five in total, had been illegally smuggled from Mexico and were being held in a locked, un-air-conditioned garage at the residence pending additional payment. The three suspects face charges of Smuggling of Persons. Jose Martin and Orlando Flores each have bond set at $500,000. Jose Aguirre also faces an additional charge of Aggravated Kidnapping, with bond pending. Sheriff Eric Fagan stated, “We are dedicated to keeping our community safe while combating heinous crimes such as these, and we are working tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.
