PEACOCK, TEXAS, September 5, 2023 – Strike Team 158 is en route to Peacock, Texas this morning to assist with efforts to contain the Peacock Fire. The blaze is currently estimated to cover around 2,000 acres and is 50% contained. The right side flank of the fire has been secured with a dozer line, while the west side flank remains highly active. Additional resources are being deployed to manage and eventually suppress the ongoing fire situation.
